Valentine Heart

Ok in this tutorial i'm going to show you how to create
a simple but beautiful valentine heart.
Creating the heart base
-------------------------
Open a new document 200x200
[Break= Steps 1 & 2]
1. Create a new layer, name is 'Heartbase'.
2. Now we are going to choose the color of the heart.
So on your tools palette click on the Foreground color
thumbnail
and used this shade of red #cf0303.
[Break= Steps 3 & 4]
3. select the custom shape tool
Make sure the settings are as follows :
click on the little arrow circled in the image above and
choose the heart shape.
4. On the top menu go to Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options
and use the following settings:
DropShadow
InnerGlow
Bevel&Emboss
You should now have a heart similar to this :
Creating the heart shine
--------------------------
[Break= Steps 5 -7]
5. Create a new layer, name is 'Heartshine'.
6. Hold Ctrl and click once on the 'Heartbase' layer
doing this will select the heart:
7. Select the paint bucket tool:
and with the 'Heartshine' layer selected in your
layers palette fill the heart selection with colour.
Now deselect :
[Break= Steps 8 & 9]
8. On the layers palette reduce the Fill of the 'Heartshine'
to 0% :
9. On the top menu go to Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options
and use the following settings:
DropShadow
InnerShadow
Bevel&Emboss
Satin
[Break= Step 10]
10. Create a new layer, name is 'GradReflex'.
Select the Gradient tool :
Make sure the settings are as follows and click on the
gradient thumbnail :
The gradient editor window will now open :
Both arrows circled in red should be white and the arrow circled in
green should have the opacity set to 0.
Now roughly in the position were you want your reflex to be
holding the shift key draw a small gradient like so :
You can use the move tool to move it in to postion if need be and also
lower the opacity slightly.
You should now have a heart similar to this :

Creating the arrow
-------------------------
11. Create a new layer name it 'arrow'
12. Make the foreground color of the arrow
black #000000
13. Select the custom shape tool again,
select the shape named 'arrow 3'.
If it's not there click on the small arrow and
load the file called all shapes.
14. Now were going to have to move the arrow into
position. On the top menu go to Edit > Transform > Rotate.
Just rotate it enough so you get it to the proper angle
like so :
You can also select the Move tool to put
it into position, like i did in the image above :
[Break= Steps 15 - 17]
15. Now as you can see the arrow may be a bit short
so go to Edit > Transform > Scale.While holding the
shift key scale it to size :
16. Select the Eraser tool :
and using brush 'Master Diameter 35px', 'Hardness 0%'
Delete the centre part of the arrow :
17. On the top menu go to Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options
and use the following settings:
DropShadow
InnerShadow

You should now have a pretty Valentine Heart :
