Upgrading from vBulletin 3.5 to 4.02. My nightmare !
The amount of work and the amount of issues that I had to deal with !
I first had to update vBulletin from 3.5 to 3.8. I had to remove all vBulletin addons, backup files, database and create a testing installation of effectica. This was the only part that went quite smoothly.
After that, I had to update the webserver (Apache, php and Mysql) to versions compatible with vb4.02.
vBulletin reccomends:
PHP: 5.2.6 or newer
MySQL: 5.0.19 or newer
I updated to newer versions, but make no mistakes....it was a nightmare.
Easyapache was playing up. I kept getting this error message:
